Weekly Design Inspirations #12 — Interior of Autonomous Concept Cars

For decades, people have emphasized on exteriors when they talk about new cars, but it is changing as concept of car ownership changes with shared-economy and ride-shares. Now with the great investment for autonomous technologies that liberate passengers from driving, more companies are invested to invent new types of car interiors. Some visions brought a living room or luxurious lounge into a car, and sleeping capsules for others. On top of car companies’ continuous explorations for the ultimate comfort in fabrics, the recent concepts feature unconventional materials like wood or marbles, making them even closer to mobile living room.

1 — BMW Vision iNEXT, 2018

Debuted at the LA Auto Show 2018, BMW Vision iNEXT came with elegant and classy boutique-hotel-like interior with wood and fabric that, in fact, weave high-tech display and voice interfaces together.
