Weekly Design Inspirations #16 — Modular Kindergartens As If They Are Miniature Villages

I ran into many kindergarten projects that attempt to break up a large, single structure into a collection of smaller units that activate external spaces. Colorful interior with cute graphic motifs and miniature furnitures to help children learn living in societies are often spotlighted in kindergarten design. These miniature lives that children experience inside of kindergartens are often also represented from their exterior views — many kindergartens arrange their classrooms and programs as if they are miniature villages.

This nursery home by Tezuka Architects looks like a collection of bubbles or beach parasols, and each unit is connected without walls not to restrict programs at each space and give a sense of comfort and infinity.
